The ultimate in exercise equipment
It looks complicated…
The Reformer is one of the most renowned pieces of Pilates equipment. The Reformer glides forwards and backwards on rollers and uses springs for resistance, along with other attachments, enabling a wide variety of exercises and positions. Exercise can be performed lying down, seated, and standing.
With its sophisticated system of springs, straps and pulleys, this amazingly versatile apparatus allows more than 200 exercises to be safely and effectively performed. At Physiotherapy Works, we’ve been running Reformer classes since 2009, and we know how to get the best from this wonderful fitness aid.
Is it only for the super fit?
Not necessarily. The Reformer facilitates hundreds of exercise variations and is therefore suitable for any level of fitness. It is a no-impact device (protecting your delicate joints). Modifications can be made for those patients with injuries or pre-existing conditions. The Reformer allows for three-dimensional movement and conditioning, and is suitable for a wide variety of clients (from rehab right up to professional athletes).
The Reformer also improves balance, strength and flexibility, provides eccentric and concentric muscle contraction, improves postural alignment and facilitates core conditioning.
Would I really be able to do that?
With expert guidance at Physiotherapy Works, you will be amazed what you can achieve in our small, highly supervised Reformer classes. Check out our timetable. Classes fill up fast.
