Johanna initially graduated with an Honours degree in Pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen and went on to study Physiotherapy, graduating with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Brighton in 2005. She has successfully completed the clinical modules towards an MSc in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire in 2015. Johanna has also gained further qualifications in acupuncture & Pilates, and she regularly attends post graduate training courses to stay up-to-date.
Johanna has gained considerable experience in both the private and public sectors, initially rotating as a Junior & Senior Physiotherapist in Brighton NHS Trust, she then went on to specialise as a Senior in Musculoskeletal Outpatients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, a renowned teaching hospital in London. Johanna went on to work as Lead Physiotherapist in Hydrotherapy in addition to her senior role in Musculoskeletal Outpatients in the private Harley Street hospital, The London Clinic. On her return home to Ireland, she worked in the Beacon Hospital, again in a senior role where she covered clinics working alongside the Beacon’s Orthopaedic Consultants and also in a specialist Pain Clinic.
Johanna has also worked with a number of elite sports teams during her career, including Basketball Ireland, Brighton and Hove Albion girl’s Academy & Women’s full squad, English Lacrosse squad and England junior rugby. Johanna is passionate about returning people to their previous level of activity or sport through a combination of hands on treatment and exercise.
